Date of the session:  Monday, May 1st, 2006.    Duration:  5: 00 p.m. - 6: 30 p.m.Number of participants: 11Main issue:   Labor Introduction:  Joshua welcomed the group. Participants introduced themselves and shared where they live. Unlike the previous meeting, the majority wasn’t from La Florida.  Considering the fact that most of the participants were attending to a CREER meeting for the first time, he explained about the nature and purpose of the CREER Service Organization .The first minutes of the meeting were filmed with the purpose of gathering illustrative audio-visual material, to provide information about the activities promoted by CREER through the organization’s web site (which is now in construction). This material is intended to be use for the Fundraising Program. Recapitulation:Luna reviewed the previous session. She opened the possibility of “giving a step back” in order to hold a space for the majority –of new comers- to “catch up”. The group had already expectations about the topic to discuss (labor). The original structure planned for the meeting wasn’t changed. . Introductory speech: Mauricio introduced his role as a group facilitator working for CREER Service Organization. On April 26th and May 2nd, four Costa Rican families were interviewed for research about their perspective on the community’s needs and their expectations about projects for the common benefit. The four families agreed to respond to questions for an open interview in their homes. A review on the notes written about the perspective of the Costa Ricans and about issues like transportation difficulties, and the existing gap in job opportunities for women was offered to be shared in a future meeting.  Topics brought forth:The topics listed below intend to synthesize the main ideas that were extracted from the general discussion. •    The value of the land vs. what Ticos are being payed (on that same land)•    Understanding the economy of Costa Rica.•    What does it mean to be “privileged”?•    Material goods of the modern world moving into the villages (Materialism).•    Strategies to give used goods back to the Ticos (ie. free boxes)•    Ticos hiring Ticos (the possibility of a tier system)•    Farms with many workers vs. Farms with few workers
•    Transportation costs of Workers.
•    Tico Women working in the Campo
•    The necessity of a calendar of paid holidays
•    Workers insurance and pensions
•    Part-time worker policies
•    Wages depending on type of work
•    How can a “white woman” integrate and support herself financially with the wages as they are.
•    Wages in the area differing from 750-1000+
•    Education with the Ticos about experiences with globalization
•    Supporting the school and education
